This workshop is for the Connections Program, an after school program of the Holyoke Public Schools. It is not open for public registration.
Artbotics is a program that has been designed to introduce students to art, computer science, and robotics, by creating interactive, kinetic sculptures.
As robots are increasingly being developed to be used in the real world, they need to be able to interact with humans. Art and design are increasingly important and will help transform robotics, technology, and our lives as robots spread into areas such as rehabilitation, eldercare, and other assistive or educational applications.
In this workshop, you will learn how to build and program interactive robots using LEGO EV3 robotics kits. Originally developed at UMASS Lowell, Artbotics techniques are used in courses and workshops around the country. This video shows some of the projects people made at our last Artbotics workshop:
We will provide a snack and all materials needed for the workshop.
