Learn to build mobile apps with Swift, the powerful programming language from Apple that is also easy to learn.
We’ll help you get started as an app developer. We’ll get the Xcode environment setup and show you how to create a simple game.
Swift is a powerful and intuitive programming language for macOS, iOS, watchOS and tvOS. Writing Swift code is interactive and fun, the syntax is concise yet expressive, and Swift includes modern features developers love. Swift code is safe by design, yet also produces software that runs lightning-fast.
We have a few computers available for participants to use during this workshop, but we encourage you to bring your own OS X laptop with OS X 10.10 “Yosemite” or OS X 10.11 “El Capitan”. If you’re not sure what version you’re running, you can check by clicking the apple menu in the upper left and selecting “About this Mac”. If you would like to use one of our computers, please let us know in the comments when you register.
If you have an iPad or iPhone bring it along for testing. If not, you can run your app in the simulator.
