Coding with Python

Mon, August 17 - Fri, August 21
10:00 am - 1:00 pm

Learn to code with Python! We’ll make games with Python, learning programming concepts along the way.

Python is one of the most widely used programming languages today. Python libraries enable you to easily write code for everything from making games and automating tasks, to creating websites and machine learning. Python has a simple syntax that makes it a good language for new programmers.

No previous Python experience necessary. If you’ve coded in Scratch or another language previously, some of the same concepts will be helpful for these projects. You should be comfortable typing on the keyboard (20+ WPM).

Class will include a mix of instruction and work on individual projects. The schedule includes an hour break for lunch.

This class is intended for beginners, but students with previous Python experience are welcome as well. If you’ve taken a Python class with us before, please contact us to figure out whether this class is a good fit.

Online Course Requirements:

  • Computer (Mac, Windows, Linux) with a webcam
  • Stable internet connection with access to Zoom video conferencing

Some scholarships are available. Please ask if you cannot pay the full cost of the program. Some laptop loans may be possible as well. Please ask if needed.
