Drones for Teachers!

Tue, January 14
5:30 pm - 7:30 pm

Join us at the Greater Boston Computer Science Teacher’s Assocation holiday party and learn how to use drones in your classroom!

Drones are exciting ways to engage your students in computer science education.

At this workshop, you will learn to use drones in your classroom. Students will be able to fly a drone, avoid obstacles, and record photos and video. Block-based coding tools enable students to learn standards-aligned computer science concepts such as looping, variables, and more while programming their own autonomous flights.

Drones are increasingly an important form of co-robotics, working with people to provide all sorts of services including photography and videography, marketing, surveying and mapping, remote sensing, inspection, monitoring, and security. As autonomous flight technology continues to improve, we will see drones finding more and more useful roles.

This workshop is a partnership with the CSTA of Greater Boston.
