Homeschool Making with Code

WHEN
Wed, October 2 - Wed, October 23
1:00 pm - 3:00 pm

WHAT

Code and computational thinking are fundamental literacy skills and they are also super fun! In this series of workshops you will build essential computing skills with Scratch, JavaScript, and Micro:bit.

We’ll begin with Scratch coding. This block-based environment offers a great place to start and includes excellent multimedia capabilities. Make games and creative animations while using the same concepts that all other programming languages are built on.

Next we will explore JavaScript, a text-based programming language that is one of the most widely used languages in the world. We will get deeper into functions, iteration, and conditionals while building fun games.

We’ll also explore making things with Micro:bit, a micro-controller that we’ll use for physical computing, wearables, and other fun inventions.

We’ll meet on Wednesdays (10/2, 10/9, 10/16, 10/23) from 1:00 to 3:00. The cost is $100 and includes all four workshops.
