Retro Gaming with RetroPie

Saturday, September 2
2:00 pm - 3:00 pm

RetroPie allows you to turn your Raspberry Pi into a retro-gaming machine, enabling you to play your favourite Arcade, home-console, and classic PC games.

We’ll help you install, configure, and get started playing!

RetroPie comes with many emulators, software that makes a computer behave like another computer, or in the case of RetroPie a computer that behaves like a video game console such as the Super Nintendo or pretty much any old-school gaming console you can think of.

Since RetroPie sits on top of a full OS, you will be able to use all the other functionality of the Raspberry Pi as well.

Experience Level

To play at home, you’ll need a Raspberry Pi 3, microSD card, power supply, HDMI cable, HDMI Monitor/TV, and a USB keyboard and mouse. For the full playing experience, you can add other game controllers!

At the workshop, you’ll just need a Raspberry Pi 3 and a microSD card – we will have displays, keyboards, and mice.

What else is at the Raspberry Jam?
