Reach the Stratosphere!

Have you ever wanted to go to Space?

FREE for High School girls from Holyoke!

You will build a payload with climate sensors, a video camera, GPS, a Raspberry Pi computer, and a parachute. Your team will track the balloon as it ascends into space. After recovery of the balloon, you will analyze the data collected.

We will meet at the Mass Green High Performance Computing Center in Holyoke for two weeks from Monday through Thursday (July 10th-13th and July 17th-20th) from 10:00 am-2:00 pm.

There is no cost to participate. Supplies and equipment will be provided thanks to our partnership with the educational technology company goMake and funding from community grants.

Here’s a video from our test launch last summer:

No experience needed, just an interest in making cool things!

If you are interested, or know someone who is interested, please fill out the application form below. Space is limited. Applications are due by June 30, 2017. We’ll notify accepted applicants by July 3rd.
